Halloween Nails ft. Essence Fatal and W7 Orange Dazzle [gradient]

Ciao a tutte!
Ah, dimenticavo: buon Halloween!

Hi ladies!
A quick post (I hope... You know that I always write a lot even if I want to do a short post) just to show you my Halloween nails.

I picked Essence Fatal as a base. I love this polish: it's super cheap (in fact it is the polish I chose to represent Greed in my tag post about 7 deadly sins) but it has a great quality. Fatal is a black creme with an excellent pigmentation which dries super glossy.
Then I used W7 Orange Dazzle to create a sort of gradient full of glitters.
Orange Dazzle has a semi sheer and jelly orange base enriched with a ton of green, gold and orange squared glitters). It is the first W7 polish that I've tried, of course I have to wear it on its own before doing a review; for the moment I can say that I was pleased by its fast drying time - even if I use a LOT of product for this sort of gradient.
That's all I have for you today, hope you like my manicure - I looooove this kind of gradient nails, with a creme polish as a base and a glitter or flakie polish on the tips - and see you soon!
Ops, I forgot: happy Halloween!

ABC Challenge: I for CND Inkwell

I know, I know, last Thursday I promised another post before a new "episode" of the ABC Challenge, but I've been really super busy during the last days.
I am really super late with three or four posts I'd like to publish ASAP. Sigh.
Back to us: I for Inkwell by CND.
As you probably know, CND has a line called Colours which is composed of 50 creme polishes. These are a great base for layering (using CND Effects or any other polish of your choice) or stamping.
Inkwell is a deep dark blue and is one of my favourite because I think that the darkest colours are the most fun to play with when it comes to layering.
Formula is great and I love this kind of brush (flat and not too small or huge), so application was easy. Pigmentation is great, only one coat in my pics. Inkwell dries glossy even without a top coat.
Drying time is fast and longevity is good.
I will publish another post just to show you how I played with Inkwell. In the meanwhile, I wish you a great day and don't forget to take a look at the entries of the other ladies!

ABC Challenge: H for Shaka Hologram Nude

Salve a tutte!
H. Dite H e io penserò all'olografico.

Hi ladies!
H. H means only a thing to me: holographic.
Here in Italy it is still warm and sunny, so I decided to swatch a recent purchase, Shaka Hologram Nude.
Shaka is a newborn and cheap Italian brand and I think they're doing a great work: they have launched a lot of collections, with a lot of different colors and finishes. Moreover, the quality is really good and prices are low (polishes retail for 1.99€ for 5 ml).
Only a negative note: they're not easily available. I live in a quite big and important city, but Shaka can't be found here. Hope they will improve their distribution soon.
The Holo Collection by Shaka has six different shades: nude, silver, rose, violet, sky and green. I bought four of them and I'm really happy of my choice.
The holo effect is stunning. Gorgeous. Amazing. It's a dramatic effect similar to that of Nfu Oh or Layla polishes. Also application and formula are similar: Shaka holo polishes apply very well on an aqua or rubberized base only and dry super fast. Longevity is not the best ever, but you can improve it applying a top coat - as usual, NOT a fast drying top coat.
The color I'm showing you is this post is called Nude... Yes, this is a neutral shade, but I won't define it as a nude tout court, it's a super delicate and ultra light pink. Two coats in my pics.
That's all I have for you today, thank you for reading and watching and have a nice day!
See you on Monday with letter I, but I will surely publish another post on Saturday or Sunday!

MAC Love Goddess Lipstick from Marilyn Monroe LE

Many months ago, when I read about the launch of a MAC collection dedicated to Marilyn Monroe, I was super, super, super happy. When I saw the press release, I was a bit disappointed by some banal choices they did (IMO, of course).
In the end, when I saw the first swatches by Temptalia, I became really, really, really frustrated.
Some products (like the blushes) have the ordinary MAC packaging but a sticker with Marilyn's image was applied on them - in Italy, we have to pay 3€ extra for this "special packaging"... This is ridiculous! Moreover, I think that the colors of the eyeshadows are boring - and, according to Temptalia's reviews, the quality is not the best. Then: the shades chosen for the nail polishes: boring, banal and again, SUPER BORING.
About the blushes: I have a super pale skin (I'm a NW20), I tried them in a MAC shop and I wasn't able to see a difference in terms of color before and after application. They are too light, almost invisible!
I really love the lipsticks: packaging is cute and colors are nice, even if at least three of them are easily dupable.
I was in love with Love Goddess, the pink-red lipstick of the bunch, but it seemed that this product wasn't available for the Italian market. None of the Italian MAC stores receveid it with the rest of the collection.
It had been available on the on line shop... For about 5 minutes. Almost all products went out of stock 30 minutes after their release on the Italian MAC website.
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I was in Milan and I visited a MAC Store and... Wow. Love Goddess was there! It arrived late (two or three weeks later than the rest of the collection), but it was there.
I immediately tried it and I carried it home with me.

Love Goddess has a very glossy packaging: both the external boxes are in a glossy black and the lipstick itself has a glossy packaging too; a pic of Marilyn and its autograph are printed on the tube.
Love Goddess is a satin and is a bright pink with a hint of red. Pigmentation is really good and formula is great, mosturizing and confortable. Its longevity is really high, it lasts a lot on me - and I smoke a lot, like I have always wrote. I also eat and drink a lot!!!!
Like all MAC lipsticks, it is vanilla-scented.
In conclusion: even if I was disappointed by the collection in general, I really love this product. Great color and great quality. Price was quite monstrous (21€.........).
What about you? Have you bought something from MAC MM collection? Do you love it? Do you hate it? Or maybe don't you give a damn?
If you want, tell me in the comments!
Thank you for reading and watching, have a wonderful evening and see you tomorrow with ABC Challenge!

ABC Challenge: G for Golden Rose Classic Metallic #10

Letter G gives me the opportunity to introduce a new brand for my blog, the turkish Golden Rose.
The polish of the day is called Classic Metallic #10, but it doesn't have a metallic or mirror finish. It's an intense but delicate purple with a subtle duochrome finish.
Formula is great, and I also like the brush, so application was super easy.
Two coats in my pics, drying time is quite fast and longevity is quite good.
As a final note, I really love the shape of the bottle, it's so cute!
See you soon with letter H (I still don't know what I'm going to show you, I have too many alternatives...) and don't forget to take a look at the other ladies entries!

Orly Fired Up Collection: swatches and review (I part)

Salve ragazze!

Hi ladies!
Today I'm going to show you three nail polishes that are part of Orly Fired Up Collection for Fall 2012. You have already seen two of them in my revisited french manicure of the last post. Let's start with more swatches and review!

Flare is surely the most festive of the collection. I think it would be great also for the Christmas period.
It is a pale gold enriched with bronze, gold and green shimmer. I love this shimmer, because it gives to this polish a special touch. Flare is opaque in two, thick coats, it dries quite fast and has a great longevity.

Glow is the softest color of the collection, a nude with a hint of pink and a creme finish. Formula is a bit runny so I suggest to do thin coats during application. Two coats for the perfect coverage, it dries super fast and has an exceptional longevity.

Smolder is probably my favourite of the three. It's a classic deep wine red with a shimmer finish.
It's almost a one coater but for my pics I used two, thin coats of product: in this way the color will be deeper, more intense and soooo vibrant! It applies easily, it dries fast (and) super glossy and has a good longevity.

That's all I have for you today, thank you for reading and watching and have a nice Sunday!
See you tomorrow with another part of the ABC Challenge and, of course, I will publish ASAP swatches and review of the other polishes from Fired Up Collection!

ABC Challenge: F for French Manicure [ft. Orly Flare and Glow]

FFFFFFFFFFFF.
Psicopatia, vieni a me.

FFFFFFFFFFFF. F for French Manicure. A Hobson's choice.
Last Sunday I was obliged to heavily file my nails, which were toooooo long (IMO) for a french manicure. I know, I am probably the only one who thinks they are "short", but I think that now they have the right lenght for a french manicure (again, IMO).
Even if I was in the right mood for a french mani, I didn't want a "classic" one. So I tried to realize a combo that I consider classic but glamour at the same time.
I started painting my nails with Orly Glow, a nude with a hint of pink and a creme finish that belongs to the recent Fired Up Collection (here it is my introduction).
Then I applied Orly Flare for the tips, using the scotch tape for a better result. Flare is a shimmering gold which is also part of Fired Up Collection.
Obviously I will show you these polishes separately, can't wait!
As a final touch, I applied three rhinestones at the base of each nails. The central rhinestone has a diameter of 2 mm, the other two have a diameter of 1 mm. These glass stones come from a kit that Viva La Nails sent me several months ago. I love it because it contains 50 pieces in four different sizes, so you can play a lot with them and realize many combinations and decorative patterns.
Well, this was my letter F, hope you like it! Have a nice day, thank you for reading and watching and don't forget to check the other ladies entries!

Special Guest: Pino il Porcospino!!! :)

ABC Challenge: E for Essence Chic Reloaded

Ok. Calma e sangue freddo. Respira e calmati.
Innanzitutto: a me 'sti nuovi boccini mi stanno sulle balle.
E' largo, stondato, e pure tagliato male.

Ok, Cris, keep calm and take a breath. Yes, the polish of the day drove you mad, but you have to write this review.
Well, back to us: Essence Chic Reloaded, from the new "generation" of Essence Colour&G.
First of all: I don't like these new bottles. At all. I think I'm the only one but... I prefer the old shape and the old size.
Then: the brush. THAT EVIL BRUSH. I have to say this: this brush is terrific. It sucks. I hate it.
It's large, rounded, but it has been cut irregularly. Applying this polish was a nightmare, thanks to the awful combo too thick formula + terrible brush.
Now, the positive characteristics of Chic Reloaded: it's really pigmented and dries fast. The color is really stunning: a gorgeous purple/green duochrome with a slight shimmer. IRL it is even better than in my pics!
In conclusion: this polish is really nice, it's cheap and I recommend it if you feel confortable with large and rounded brush or if you have the patience of applying it.
This was my letter E, see you soon with another part of this challenge and take a look at the other ladies entries!

Tag: 7 Deadly Sins

A year ago I wrote a tag about 7 deadly sins in beauty; it was so fun that I decided to post another similar tag, so these are my 7 deadly sins in nail polish!
If you want to read more about nail polish sins, check the other ladies entries!

Barbara - Nail Polish Crazy
Francesca - The Beauty Case
Simona - Light Your Nails

1) GREED: What is the cheapest nail polish in your stash?

I have bougth a lot of Essence polishes for 99 cents. I picked Fatal because it has an incredible quality... This polish is a bargain!

China Glaze Passion in the Pacific.

2) WRATH: Which polish do you have a love-hate relationship with?

China Glaze Passion in the Pacific. The color is gorgeous, almost unique, when I look at it I think at the Carribean Sea but... Capture its true color is impossible. Really impossible. I tried with 5 different cameras but no way. Moreover, this polish doesn't dry. After 48 hours it is still dentable. Even if you use a fast drying top coat.

3) GLUTTONY: Which polish have you most desired ever since you first saw it?

OPI DS Glamour. It had been my biggest lemming for years, and now I have it (thank you Simona!).

Trauma.

4) SLOTH: Which polish do you hate wearing because of the trouble you have to go to either applying or removing it?

I picked Zoya Nova because it was my very first "heavy" glitter. I hate removing glitter polishes, even if I couldn't live without glitters!

5) SUPERBIA: quale smalto sei orgogliosa di possedere?

A England Iseult.

5) PRIDE: Which polish are you proud to own?

A England Iseult. I think that I was one of the first italian customer of A England, the brand that I call "the brand with a soul", and I'm proud about this.
I fell in love with A England thanks to Iseult, so that's why I chose it.

Ok, sto divagando).

6) LUST: Which polish makes your nails look sexy?

According to my boyfriend, a classic french manicure. According to me: Essie Too Too Hot. Its name serves as a guarantee!
I love wearing Essie Too Too Hot in combo with MAC Red.

Ozotic 528. Sigh sob.

Source
7) ENVY: Your biggest lemming: you envy those who own it.

Ozotic 528. Sigh sob.
